The Canby Chapter aka “The Oregon Trail Pitchpipers” started in February, 1965 with the gathering of 17 men who wanted to sing.
Attendance increased as time passed by. The members were attending the Evergreen District conventions
as spectators to become better acquainted with the Barbershop style of harmony.
The charter was presented to the chapter on our charter show on May 2, 1967.
The Cascade Chorus from Eugene Oregon was the sponsoring chapter.

About a month after our charter show we entered our first District contest in Salem Oregon
which brought us a 4th place finish. The following year was in Spokane Washington where we were
awarded the position of District Chorus Champions.
This was under the musical direction of Wayne Schumacher.
We have had several music directors since Wayne.
We continue to entertain in the Canby and surrounding areas as well as producing our annual chapter show, usually in February.
We are always looking for those men who like to sing. Please come and join us in a song.
